If you’ve ever been a guest at someone’s wedding or event, you know how much ambiance live music adds. It can swankify, funkify, jazzify, and polish it. (Ha! Bet you thought I was going to say another word with “-ify” on it, eh? My thesaurus didn’t have any more, otherwise I woulda!)  I’d like to introduce to you one of our favorite jazz ensembles.  They’re fun to watch, their sounds are refreshing, they’re totally nice guys, and you KNOW it’s a party when they’re there!  Meet Jason of the Jason Parker Quartet.

What do you do?
We offer professional live music for ceremonies and receptions. Jazz, classical, R&B and more.

How long have you been in the industry?
8 years

What prompted you to open this lovely business of yours?
I love sharing people’s special days with them, and bringing just the right musical ambiance to complement the event.

What is your favorite product or service that you offer?
Jazz, baby!

What do you like to say makes you unique from others in your industry? Why do clients choose your services/products?
We are a working jazz band, not just a “wedding band”, and our clients always comment on how joyous and celebratory our performances are. We really bring it!

You guys crack me up. What is your favorite thing about weddings? Why do you love doing what you do?
I love that everyone is happy and celebrating love. I wish the whole world was like that.

You and me both! Why are you excited to be a part of GHGH?
We love all the people involved, from the charity to the organizers to the vendors to the attendees. And the cake.

Glad we came before your love of the cake, though we love the cake too! How are you participating in the event?
We are playing live music and auctioning off an hour of our music.

He says, “I’m a sucker for old, sappy love songs.”  Well heck, if you were a musician who didn’t love happy, celebratory events, and those sappy songs, we’d have a problem, wouldn’t we? Did you know that this year’s event is on Thursday October 29th??  Tickets are on sale and they are going quickly!  We have space for only about 350 people and hope to fill the space with couples planning their wedding and of course their loving friends & family!   Start shopping for your party clothes now – this is going to be SUCH a fun event!

Last year’s event was an incredible success. We raised $30,000 and had SO much fun doing it!

There was  so much going on – live music by Jason Parker Quartet, DJ mixed music by Brian Dale of Wavelength Music, cocktails & appetizers provided by The Arctic Club, a photo-booth by Kate McElwee, the event was hosted by the fabulous Brooke & Monti from the Ladies room, Mark from the Stokes Auction group was our amazing auctioneer (everyone loved him!), photos from the evening by Jeff LaPlante and BEST of all we raised $30,000 for Brides Against Breast Cancer & The Making Memories Foundation.
