We could not be more delighted to introduce you to Debbie and Al Turnbull, the owners of Timeless Weddings!!  Debbie creates monogrammed, embroidered veils and items for the wedding, reception and the home.

Debbie, what do you love about your work? I am always a little amazed that what I do for a living is actually called “work”.  I’ve sewn for as long as I can remember.  The addition of our two embroidery machines have taken this to a whole new dimension.  I work with moms and newborns in a postpartum/lactation office by day.  In the remaining time I have the opportunity to create beautiful, meaningful things for others that are meant to be cherished and passed down through the generations.  Babies, children and weddings are a passion.  I consider it a privilege to be involved in some of life’s most memorable and important times, whether it is getting married or giving birth.

What drew you to Get Hitched, Give Hope? What an amazing group of people focused on such an incredible goal!  We cannot thank you enough for your enthusiasm and warm welcome.  It is so wonderful to be involved in a wedding show with such a great cause.

How are you participating in GHGH? We are donating a few items, veils that may be monogrammed at a later date, a fun pillow…

And more!  Stay tuned…

What is your favorite product or service you provide? Enabling the  bride to choose and design what she would envision, whether it is a simple request or something that  has great meaning.  For example, adding pearls from her mom’s veil to hers.  I recently had the opportunity to work with a wonderful lady who lost her father three months before her wedding.  She invited her family to design her veil.  Her mom chose an eternal heart design to underscore the monogram. I also love learning about different traditions like the “Veil Ceremony” and then following the bride’s wishes to create a custom veil for it.

Why do clients choose you? We strive to follow the bride’s vision and wishes.   In doing so we always end up on the right path with amazing results.  I love the art of communicating, in a creative open, fun atmosphere with the bride to achieve those results.  The words “that’s the beauty of custom” are very meaningful to me, they represent what the bride wants.

Anything else you’d like to share with the world? Our deepest thanks and appreciation to the GHGH crew!  We are incredibly blessed, with a wonderful family and incredibly positive people around us.  Thank you to Al, my tech support, mentor, production assistant, digitizer, cook.  For 36 years…the reason I believe in marriage.

Thank you!!

Please say hello to another of our talented and generous sponsors, Tara Bliven of Ephemera!!  At Ephemera, they design and letterpress print wedding invitations and other stationery.  They have been in business for almost 4 years.

Tara, what do you love about your work? I love the satisfaction of taking a design from the initial concept all the way to the final product.  A bride comes to us with an idea or an item that inspires her, and we help set the tone for the day with an invitation that we design and produce ourselves every step of the way.

What drew you to Get Hitched, Give Hope? Not only do we get to meet and connect with brides, grooms, and their friends and family, but we get to do it while benefitting an awesome cause and having a fun party?  Who wouldn’t want to sign up?!  Plus, I do not have enough excuses to dress up, and I think it’s high time I went shopping! I have never attended the event, but I have heard great things and I’m really excited!

How are you participating in GHGH? Ephemera is donating a suite of 2-color customized letterpress invitations from our new letterpress collection – a collection so new that it hasn’t quite debuted yet.  But you won’t want to miss it!  We’re also donating some lovey-dovey luxe letterpress cards to the swag bags that I think brides are going to love using to keep in touch.

That is exciting!!

Every day brings another story of someone who is fighting for her or his life, and with it a new chance for each of us to reach out.  This one comes from among the ranks of our own generous and caring sponsors and volunteers.

Marilee Kimball of 321 FOTO shared with us the loss, and hope, that she and her friends and family are experiencing right now. Marilee wrote to us about her belief in the power of spirit.  Here is a part of her letter:

On Friday I lost my friend Michele to breast cancer.  She has been battling for the last 5 years.  She was only 45 years old.  This process has been so eye opening on being healthcare advocates for our friends and family.  It has engaged me fully in the presence of loss, and grief.

What I need from you is a bit of that hope we are talking about holding onto.  My sister-in-law Jessica Harrington has Stage 3 breast cancer (which is what my friend Michele started out with.)  I am requesting any sort of rally for love/prayer/hope/awareness.  She has her mastectomy scheduled for next Wednesday (8/25).  It is going to be a 6-10 hour surgery depending on how much reconstruction they have to do.

I want that woman surrounded in love and light.

Thank you, and whatever you can do to call on the love for my sister Jessica would be greatly appreciated.

We will all be keeping Jessica in our thoughts and prayers!  Please send your well wishes, thoughts, hope, and prayers to her and to anyone who is fighting this battle today.

We are thrilled to introduce another of our amazing returning sponsors, Brittany O'Brien of Dolce Design!!  Brittany creates couture correspondence for weddings and corporate events, and has been doing this for six years.  Brittany's designs are beautiful, creative, and distinctive.  Gorgeous!

Brittany, what do you love about your work?  The environment is always creative and challenging and the clients are always excited and eager to see their designs and final products. I get some of the very best Thank You Notes, Facebook Messages, Tweets and Emails. They always make my day!

What drew you to Get Hitched, Give Hope?  Laurel McConnell! She approached me during the first year and I helped put together the event program. Pages and pages of gorgeous goodies and fabulous vendors… plus Laurel is energetic, silly and she talks with her hands. She’s a girl after my own heart; I couldn’t resist her! In all seriousness, Get Hitched Give Hope is an amazing event for a wonderful cause. I am so happy to be a small part of it.

How are you participating in GHGH this year?  With your generous donation to Get Hitched Give Hope the first fifty invitations of your custom order are free. Find us during the silent auction!

What is your favorite product or service you provide?  Everything I do is custom and tailored to your special event. I adore it when people come to me with ideas they think are “weird” or “crazy.” I love love and people in it. Your invitations are the first glimpse your guests get of your wedding and creating something that is uniquely yours is what I love to do.
