When planning a wedding, there always seems to be a theme that comes through, as with all parties really.

Tell us a little bit about yourself!!  What do you specialize in?

My name is Nicole Gleason and I’m the owner of Nicole Mae Paper Design. My passion is designing special stationery and wedding day-of paper goods that are anything but generic. I ADORE all things paper related and finding new and exciting solutions to the ins and outs of a wedding. I start with an overall ‘look’ or group of colours, graphics, fonts to define a wedding and utilize them throughout and event- from save the date to thank you card. The majority of my clients find me because they just can’t find ‘the one’ pre-made invitation for them and that’s what custom stationery (and I) am all about!

 

What drew you to the wedding industry?

I started this business just as I was laid off from my Photo Art Director position at Macys (they moved their advertising department to San Francisco). A few people approached me to design their stationery and I instantly fell in love. Been in the business ever since!

 

Tell us…. What are you donating to Get Hitched Give Hope this year?

My donation includes custom designed wedding day-of paper goods for up to 150 guests. Escort Cards, Table Numbers and Menu Napkin Wraps.

 

Is this your first year with with us or have you participated with GHGH in the past??

Yes, this is my first year as a GHGH participant and I’m THRILLED! What an amazing group of men and women who put this event together and I could no longer stand by and not participate. I’ve attended the event in years past and am excited to join in raising money for such a worthy cause. Umm.. not to mention the INCREDIBLE evening itself- full of glamour, hope and love.

 

Tell us your favorite part of  weddings.

My favorite part of weddings is when the bride turns the corner to walk down the isle. All eyes on her, regardless of where, when or how extensively planned a wedding is, this is the greatest and most important part in my mind.

 

Do you have any insider secrets to tell our brides to make their planning (and enjoyment of their wedding) easier?

Stay organized! It’s easy to loose track of all the details. Even a simple binder with tabs will ensure all your ideas, contracts etc. stay in one place, so you’ll have it all with each meeting you attend. Also, paint chips from a local hardware store keep all your vendors on the same page about your color scheme.
