What’s the history behind Green Lake Jewelry Works?

Green Lake Jewelry Works opened about 15 years ago across the street from Green Lake.  It started as a mom and pop repair shop, and quickly began doing custom jewelry.  Since then, the business has grown tremendously as we out grew our beloved Green Lake location.  We now specialize in helping clients design and create spectacular one-of-a-kind custom jewelry!

The question we like to ask is why just pick a ring that you like out of a case when you can design it  EXACTLY how you always envisioned – unique, special, and memorable to you!

What do you love about your work?

I love that we are not a normal jewelry store. At Green Lake Jewelry we provide something beyond what you’d find in a standard jewelry case. Clients get to work directly with an artist or jeweler through the whole exciting design process that can start with as little as a scribble on a napkin.  The shop is filled with talented artists, computer modelers, gemologists, wax carvers, and some of the finest jewelers.  It’s an incredibly creative and friendly environment where we all help each other grow and learn!

The best part of our process is that the client gets to be involved in making decisions all along the way.  We don’t just meet once with a client and make their  piece.  We sit together for sketches, we create 3D computer renderings, have a wax viewing where the model can be tried on.  Client input is taken all along the way, which really makes it a personal experience.   Once the wax is approved we cast it, do all the finish work, and setting here, all under one roof.

What drew you to Get Hitched Give Hope?

This is our first year being involved with Get Hitched Give Hope and we are very excited!

There were a few things that attracted us to participate in Get Hitched, Give Hope.  The work and thought behind the cause is so wonderful and heartwarming.  They are able to give so much back and they make it look like such fun!  This seemed like the perfect combination of supporting a more than worthy cause, getting to know those in the Seattle wedding industry, and being a part of a big dazzling party!

What exciting items will Green Lake Jewelry Works be auctioning off?

We have a gorgeous pair of earrings in the live auction and jewelry cleaner in the swag bags!

The set of earnings that we are donating to the live auction has been really fun to put together.  We had 5 of our top designers come up with earring designs that were rendered and put up on facebook for followers to vote on.  The process photos of the final chosen piece were then posted for everyone to see.  They are drop dead gorgeous with a nice balance of elegance, movement, and class.  Perfect for a bride or just a great occasion!
