Whitney, what do you love about your work? I love the personal relationships I build with my customers in helping them bring to life a special piece they have conceptualized and that will convey deep meaning and beauty. I also love the creative expression that goes into making wearable art that is both unique and luxurious.

What drew you to Get Hitched, Give Hope? I am currently developing my bridal collection so I am thrilled to get involved in wedding activities, events and organizations in the Seattle area that also give to important causes I believe in.

How are you participating? I am donating a pair of my “Luz Earrings” Sterling Silver Hand-Woven Architectural Baby Hoops to the live auction.

What are your favorite products you offer? My favorites are: Wave Bangle Bracelets (above) and  Vida Hoop Earrings.

What makes your business stand out? My product stands out in that I combine organic materials with elegance, offering a hybrid of versatile timelessness in my pieces. My signature designs are instantly recognizable by my metal techniques. I create finishes that are matte, sandblasted and hand-sanded, resulting in textured pieces marked by modern geometric and natural shapes. My collection adds edginess to traditional jewelry art forms through mixed bimetals, waves and asymmetrical shapes. All pieces are created in 10k, 14k and 18k yellow and white gold, 14k rose gold, 18k gold plate, oxidized and sterling silver. I incorporate semi-precious gemstones, turquoise, pearls, and chocolate, grey and colorless diamonds into my pieces.

Anything else you’d like to share with the world? Whitney Stern Jewelry Design is a socially and environmentally responsible jewelry design company that believes in conscious consumerism and uses recycled metals whenever possible. My company gives back to world communities, creating opportunity where none existed. I collaborate with artisans from Lima, Peru to develop her line. I believe in empowering and educating the consumer to learn and appreciate all of the steps involved in the creation of jewelry.
