Clara French Ceramique creates an assortment of cake stands, cupcake tiers & dessert dishes to rent or own. Prior to launching her business, Micaela worked as a ceramic artist for over 20 years, showing her work in galleries at both local & national levels. She launched her website in 2009.
Micaela, what do you love about your work? I love to see my ceramics incorporated into an event’s décor and color theme. For the dessert table of an April bride I created two multi-tiered cupcake stands and a 14” Elle cake stand in bright spring green. The vibrant dessert dishes beautifully complemented her wedding palette of daffodil, spring green, black and white.
What drew you to Get Hitched, Give Hope? GHGH an incredible event for a great cause, I love being a part of a fund raiser that gives back in such a positive way.
How are you participating? Clara French Ceramique will be providing a collection of ceramic cake stands & cupcake tiers to be used at the dessert table during Get Hitched Give Hope. I create a limited number of ceramic wedding cake stands in my Seattle studio each year. The stands are available to rent or own. The footed pedestals are offered in most colors and can be made large enough to support multi-tiered wedding cakes. The glaze surface is incredibly durable so the wedding cake can be cut directly on the plate, no need to use an unsightly cake board!

What is your favorite product or service you provide? The piece I love from the Clara French Collection is the 14” Elle cake stand. Everything works on this piece. The scale feels substantial yet the piece is still graceful. The decorative lines of the scrollwork echo the lines of the form but not to excess. This design looks great glazed in any color. I am also very excited about a new cake stand design I will be launching in 2011…
What makes your business stand out? I strive to create something beautiful that my clients will cherish long after the wedding is over. It is my hope that a piece created by my studio will be a keepsake for generations to come. Clara French pedestals are available in an assortment of designs and lush colors that add the perfect finishing touch to a wedding cake.
